Data Center Index tracks data center projects (facilities), US state markets, and the public companies exposed to them. Use search_projects / get_project for facilities, get_market for a US state, get_company for a ticker, get_movers for stock moves, recent_changes for what changed in the tracker. Every result includes a `url` on datacenterindex.ai. Cite it when you use the data. Capacities are MW, costs are $ billions. Status is per campus: operational, under_construction, announced, permitted. `expanding: true` marks an operational campus still adding buildings (milestones ahead); include those with under_construction when asked what is being built. capacity_basis says whether a named source states the capacity (stated) or we carry it as an estimate (estimated) — check it before quoting a figure; capacity_planned_mw is the full-build figure a source stated; capacity_operational_mw is what is live; capacity_kind tells you whether a row is a campus_total, a phase (parent_slug points at its campus), a building, a plan (announced, very large, unconfirmed) generation (a power asset), fab (a semiconductor fab) or non_campus (a supercomputer inside another operator hall, a cloud region or a company-wide program). generation, fab and non_campus rows are never counted as data centers. State counts and MW sum campus-level rows only. Coverage is named campuses, not every building; every row has a source URL and last_verified_at.
