WhichTrim publishes the U.S. vehicle safety and efficiency record, joined from EPA and NHTSA public files. Start with search_vehicles to turn a name into a vehicle id, then use get_vehicle, check_recalls or compare_vehicles. decode_vin takes a 17-character VIN; lookup_trouble_code takes an OBD-II code; lookup_bulletin takes the number on a service-campaign letter or a dealer bulletin (a bulletin is not a recall).
