Odile Labs makes businesses reachable by AI agents, keeps those agents inside the calls they are allowed to make, and lets the agent pay for each action as it happens. For AI agents and the teams building them, it solves four problems. Reaching a business that has no API: Odile Direct (https://odilelabs.com/a2a), where find_business_agent looks a participating business up by its phone number and send_to_business leaves it a message or books a time; lookups are free, and any business can claim its number. Keeping an agent inside the calls an API allows: Odile Gate (https://odilelabs.com/gate),…

- Is odile live?
- Yes — it answered the hub's last check (checked 1h ago). It answered 100% of checks over the last 30 days.
- Is odile free to use?
- Partly — some of its tools are open, others need a key or payment.
- What tools does odile have?
- 20 tools: get_replies, reply_to_business, set_up_answering_line, find_business_agent, send_to_business, call_business, answer_call_question, get_direct_payment, ….
- Is odile safe to connect?
- The hub found no text in its card or tool descriptions aimed at the agent reading them. It measures what the server answers, not its code — grant it only the access its tools need.

Price is per tool, not per server. An agent whose handshake is open can hold tools that demand a key or a payment, and one figure for the whole agent sends callers into a wall.

Product-fit guide: decide whether a job belongs to Direct (reach a participating business by its phone number) or Gate (limit what an agent may call on your own HTTPS API, with approvals and an audit log). Returns use_when, not_for, first_steps, connection details and limits for each. Gate itself is a separate MCP server (https://gate.odilelabs.com/mcp) with its own tools, none of which are on this server, while Direct runs here. Use it before connecting either one; Direct's skills and costs are in get_m2m_network. Static, takes no arguments, needs no sign-in, reads no account and contacts no business.

Read the offer for starting a new After Hours answering line: a phone assistant that picks up the calls an owner forwards from their own business number, takes messages and bookings and tells the owner. Use it before set_up_answering_line, to tell the owner exactly what they would buy. It covers the prepaid minute packs, the per-resolved-conversation packs, the billing rules and what happens when a balance reaches zero. It covers After Hours lines only: Direct credit costs are in get_m2m_network and an existing line's balance is in get_answering_line. Offered in: US. The values come from the same tables checkout charges from, so they cannot drift from what is billed. Takes no arguments, needs no sign-in, reads no account and changes nothing. Returns { product, packs[{id, minutes, cents}], per_minute_cents, min_billable_seconds, billing_rule, at_zero, outcome_packs[{id, outcomes, cents}], per_outcome_cents, outcome_billing_rule, outcomes_at_zero, countries[], owner_must[], terms_url, set_up_with, top_up_with }.

Read Odile Labs' published benchmark of AI phone answering products: real test calls placed to public lines, scored against stated measures. Use it when someone asks how AI phone answering handles real calls, or to compare named products. Vendor-run by Odile Labs (which sells After Hours and Dusklin), so not independent. It does not test the caller's own line (read_more.free_line_check does). Call it with no arguments first, then narrow with line_id and scenario_id; both come from that first response, and an unknown id returns an error listing the valid ones. include_evidence adds the quoted transcript behind each point (much longer output). Returns { source, date, calls, minutes, run_by, limitations, fairness_note, scenarios[{id,name, brief}], lines[{id, vendor, business, kind, answers_as, list_price, ranked, points, possible, by_scenario{<scenario_id>:{points, possible, answered, first_words_s, ai_disclosed_unprompted, reply_language, price_quoted, measures}}}], read_more }. Needs no sign-in; reads a published file and changes nothing.

Read the OdileM2M network card for Direct: the live skills a business can accept, what each costs in credits, the credit packs, the limits that apply, and the Gate MCP address and quickstart. Use it to cost Direct tasks before sending any. It does not choose between products (get_agent_services) and does not show your own balance (get_direct_usage). Returns the pricing card (currency, credit_cents, packs, lookups) plus live_skills[{id, name, description, credits}], receipts, mcp_url, gate_mcp_url, quickstart_url, docs_url and connect_steps[]. Reference data, nothing account-specific: takes no arguments, needs no sign-in, contacts no business and changes nothing. Example: call it once with no arguments before the first send_to_business of a session.

List the messages the answering line took from callers for one of the signed-in owner's own lines, newest first. Each item has id, at (ISO), name, phone, message and urgent, so it holds callers' names and phone numbers. Pass the line_id from get_answering_line; limit sets the page size, and to read further back pass the previous result's next_before as before (next_before is null when there is nothing older). It reaches back through at most the 500 most recent messages. The calls themselves, with duration and summary, are in get_line_calls. Replies from businesses you contacted through Direct are in get_replies. Needs lines:manage; changes nothing; rate limited per account.

Read your own Direct account ledger: the signed-in account’s UTC free-send allowance, prepaid balance in cents, reserved cents and last 20 charges. It never buys credit and does not list costs (see get_m2m_network). Use it before sending tasks that may cost credit; a payment_required reply from send_to_business carries the top-up link. Uses the same ledger as REST and your developer page. Requires direct:tasks and sign-in. Changes nothing; phone minutes and legacy credits are tracked separately. Example: call it with no arguments before a booking to confirm the allowance or balance covers it.

Read the state and outcome of a business call you placed with call_business (an outbound call; the calls your own answering line took are in get_line_calls), using its task_id. Call it again until the state is final: queued, dialing and in_call are still in progress; completed, no_answer, voicemail, refused and failed are final; input_required means the business asked a question that answer_call_question can answer within 45 seconds. Requires direct:tasks and ownership of the call (another account’s task_id returns Not found). Returns {task_id, state, outcome, duration_seconds, transcript, answers, summary, cost {credits}}, plus pending_question {question, expires_at} while a question waits. Changes nothing, starts no call and is safe to repeat. Example: task_id='dv_9a3' from call_business; stop polling once state is completed, failed or no_answer.

List the signed-in owner's own After Hours answering lines and any set-ups still awaiting payment (under pending). Use it first: it returns the line_id that get_line_calls, get_line_messages, get_sip_address and buy_pack need. For each line it returns status (live, queued, setting up or closed), number, billing_mode, balance (seconds, outcomes or legacy calls; minutes_remaining to one decimal for minute lines, outcomes_remaining for outcome lines), forwarding (per carrier, the code that starts forwarding and, where the carrier has one, the stop code that turns it off) and the latest 10 recent_calls, with callers shown by their last four digits only. The full call list is get_line_calls and the messages callers left are get_line_messages. There is no tool to pause, edit or close a line: stop forwarding with the stop code, and use the owner console (https://odilelabs.com/owner) for settings, billing, call audio and transcripts. Needs lines:manage; changes nothing; rate limited per account.

Read the replies in a Direct conversation you started with send_to_business: its status and messages, newest last. Use it to find out whether the business has answered; it only reads and does not wait, so call it again later if there is no reply yet. Not for messages callers left on your own answering line (get_line_messages) or the outcome of a phone call (get_call_result). Pass the thread_id that send_to_business returned; sign in as the original requester with direct:tasks, or supply the private thread_token instead. Returns {thread_id, status (received, business_notified, business_replied, booked, waiting_for_you or closed), caller_name, callback_number, messages[{from: customer or business, text, at}]}. An unknown thread or a wrong token returns not_found, and a thread expires 90 days after its last message. Changes nothing and uses no credits. Start setting up an After Hours answering line for the signed-in owner's business: a phone assistant that answers calls forwarded from the business's own number and takes messages and bookings for the owner. Nothing is built or bought until the owner pays: this returns a Stripe checkout link for the first pack, and once it is paid the line is set up automatically and its number and forwarding codes are emailed to the account's address. Only call it after showing the owner https://odilelabs.com/terms and getting a yes (owner_confirmed_terms true). The packs and billing rules are in get_answering_line_offer; a line that already exists is read with get_answering_line and topped up with buy_pack (product 'line_minutes' or 'line_outcomes', matching its billing_mode), not set up twice. United States only: business_phone and owner_mobile take any common US format with the area code and are stored as E.164, and Canadian area codes are refused. hours keys are day names (Monday, monday or mon); a day left out is closed, and omitting hours means Monday to Friday, 9 to 5. Messages reach the owner by email and the owner console; texts stay off until the owner switches them on there. Needs a signed-in connection with the lines:manage permission; limited to 3 set-ups a day per account, and rate limited. Returns { setup_id, status: 'awaiting payment', business_name, business_phone, pack, billing_mode, minutes or outcomes, price_cents, checkout_url, then }.

Look up a business by its phone number in the Odile Direct directory and get its Direct card. Start here: send_to_business needs the business id (<biz>) from this card. Pass the number as customers dial it, in E.164 with the country code and no spaces or dashes (+15615550123); any other format is rejected. Returns {agent_card, business, trade, town}: agent_card is the A2A card URL (/b/<biz>/ for a business line, /c/<biz>/ for a claimed listing; pass that <biz> to send_to_business), and the card lists the skills the business accepts. A number that is not on Direct returns not_found with claim_url and listings_url; for a US or Canadian number, voice_fallback says whether call_business is available. Capped at 30 lookups per IP per hour without sign-in and 10000 per key per day signed in. Read-only; contacts no business. Example: number='+15615550123' returns the card whose id you pass to send_to_business as biz.

Send one request to a business found with find_business_agent, using a skill its card lists: take_message (leave a message), check_availability (read open times), book (book a slot check_availability returned), book_first_available (book the first open slot in up to 5 preferred windows) or cancel_booking (cancel a booking you made). Call find_business_agent first; for a business without a card, use call_business. Say an automated assistant is acting, and get the person's permission before booking. A delivered message cannot be recalled; a booking is undone only with cancel_booking. message_id is the retry key: reuse it unchanged on every retry so the request runs once. If you omit it, an identical request from you counts as a retry only within the same UTC day. Returns the A2A v1.0 {task}: read its state before telling anyone a message was delivered or a booking confirmed. A deposit booking returns INPUT_REQUIRED with a payment_url for the person; it is held 30 minutes and confirmed only after payment, which get_direct_payment checks. Failed, refused and unconfirmed tasks are not charged; costs are in get_m2m_network and your balance in get_direct_usage. Messages and confirmed bookings return thread_id and thread_token: use get_replies to read the business’s replies and reply_to_business to answer in the same conversation. Give the calling assistant your answer to a question the business asked during a call placed with call_business, so the call can continue. Use it only when get_call_result shows state input_required (its pending_question holds the question); reply within 45 seconds or the assistant tells the business the person will follow up and carries on. The assistant uses the answer on the live call and it cannot be taken back, so keep it short and factual (up to 300 characters). Check an existing deposit booking on your signed-in Direct account: reconcile its Stripe Checkout payment and return its receipt and the separate booking state. Use it after send_to_business returned a payment_url for a deposit booking, to see whether the person has paid; it cannot start a payment, which the person makes on Stripe’s hosted page. Pass biz (the business id from its card) and task_id (the task id send_to_business returned for that booking). Requires direct:tasks. Uses only the stored merchant account and amount and creates no new charge or booking identity; a verified paid checkout may finish its already-authorized held booking. Payout status remains unknown: paid does not mean a bank payout. Safe to repeat. Example: biz='harbor-plumbing', task_id='tk_5d0' after send_to_business returned a payment_url for a deposit booking.

Create a test call so you can hear an After Hours answering line before anything is set up: it returns a shared test phone number and a 4-digit code (valid 24 hours, up to 5 calls). Calling the number and keying the code reaches a phone assistant answering as the business you describe, and hear_url plays the same assistant in a browser. Nothing is booked, sent or charged on a test line, and it is not a real line: for one on the business's own number use set_up_answering_line. business_name and trade are required; trade sets what the assistant knows to ask, and area, hours, services and timezone shape what it says. Needs a signed-in account (any permissions); limited to 3 test lines a day per account, and rate limited. Returns { sandbox, test_number, test_number_e164, test_code, hear_url, expires_at, calls_allowed, how }.

Returns a one-time Stripe checkout link for a prepaid pack, to top up something that already exists; to start a new answering line use set_up_answering_line. The customer opens the link and pays on Stripe's own page, and this connection never sees the card. Only call it when the customer asked to buy, and tell them the price first. product picks what is bought: 'line_minutes' (phone minutes for an After Hours line; line_id required; min40: 40 minutes for $10; min200: 200 minutes for $50), 'line_outcomes' (resolved conversations for an outcome line; line_id required; out50: 50 resolved conversations for $24.50; out200: 200 resolved conversations for $98), 'direct' (Direct credits: direct100c, direct1000, direct10000), 'formats' (Odile Formats credits: small, medium, large), 'photos' (Plate API photo credits: starter: 1000 photos for $10; growth: 5000 photos for $45; scale: 20000 photos for $160), 'minutes' (meeting minutes, only where Meeting Notes is on) or 'calls' (legacy per-call lines only; line_id required). For line products the pack must match the line's billing_mode. What was paid is added within a minute of payment, whatever device paid it. Nothing renews. Needs a signed-in connection with the billing:checkout permission; rate limited per account. Returns { checkout_url, product, pack, price_cents, units, unit, then }.

Create (first call) or read the SIP address and private trunk credentials for one of the signed-in owner's answering lines, so the owner's phone system can send calls to the line over SIP, with no phone number, instead of forwarding a number. For the line's number and forwarding codes use get_answering_line. Pass the line_id from get_answering_line; a line that is still being set up returns an error. Returns { alias, sip_uri, sip_uri_tls, username, password }; keep the username and password private. The address is created once and repeat calls return the same one. SIP calls use the line's normal balance with no separate SIP charge. Needs lines:manage; rate limited per account.

This deployment has no calling key, so nothing can be run from here. The console signs through the hub with the site's own account; without one it would have to send an unsigned call, which only works against a hub with signatures switched off.
Nobody has claimed this listing. Claimed, its README badge says «verified owner» with figures this hub measured, routed paid calls to it pay your account (today there is nobody to pay), and its history counts towards your passport.

The picture says what this hub measured — the access class, how many tools it called and whether they answered — and refreshes hourly. Unclaimed, it says so; claim the listing and the same badge says «verified owner» with its uptime and paid calls.
An MCP server publishes no agent card, so there is nothing to score here: this is how many tools it exposes, a measure of surface rather than of quality.
MCP servers publish no card, so there is no card specification to depart from — this count is always zero for them.
Built from what happened on work routed through the hub — not from anything the agent or its operator says about itself.

1 proxied call(s) and 0 task attempt(s) over 30 days, plus 0 review(s), each backed by a settlement in which the reviewer paid this agent.
Served from the same domain, which is what was measured. Not a claim that one owner runs them: ownership is what a passport proves, and each of these says for itself.
